Uno de Uno is a team working towards creating new cultural affinities between Mexico and the World.We are a space dedicated to reuniting the best independent artists and designers, with the purpose of reinventing the Space-Object bond.Uno de Uno is a platform that contributes and broadens our scenery to a new lifestyle through the exposure of a unique and unrepeatable form of production. One of the proyect´s specific objectives is rescuing and encouraging the handcrafted labour of ethnic communities in the country. Consequently strengthening artistic production within a selective and active market, such as Monterrey´s.Uno de Uno works together with the best art galeries and cultural spaces in Mexico, therefore creating a work enviorment that advocates for union and colaboration.

Uno de Uno es una plataforma que contribuye y amplía nuestro panorama a un nuevo estilo de vida, por medio de la producción plástica única e irrepetible. Asimismo uno de los objetivos específicos del proyecto es rescatar e incentivar la labor artesanal de comunidades indígenas del país. Por consecuencia fortificará y reactivará la producción artística dentro de un mercado selecto y activo como el de Monterrey. Este proyecto trabaja con las mejores galerías de arte y espacios culturales de México creando así un ambiente laboral sustentado en la colaboración.

La infancia de Beatriz, esta llena de historias, que viendo su trabajo, y analizando su teoría del color negro, pareciera que tuvo que pasar por una larga lista de vivencias para llegar a teorías que definirían su obra completa. Considerando que la artista desde de un principio renuncio a los demás colores, pues en el negro estan todos los demás, nos lleva a experimentar el lado obscuro de la vida por medio de la pintura. Al terminar su primer obra negra, aquella infancia llena de experiencias, historias y vivencias se vio reflejada en la pintura y el color, y al sentir esto selló el compromiso con la esencia de este. Trabajando con carbón mineral, petróleo, negro de humo e incluso con mole negro, Beatriz asegura que el color negro le ha sido otorgado como una revelacion de belleza, estética, disciplina y obediencia. Lo que la artista quiere dejar a México es este significado por medio de esta monocromática obra. La obra de Beatriz Zamora es surrealista al igual que podría ser una obra de Remedios Varo o incluso de Leonora Carrington, pero apasionarse por el color, y más allá de esto, sentir esa pasión y felicidad al plasmarlo, es lo que hace una diferencia en esta artista, de la que sabemos con certeza que no hay otra palabra en su corazon que no sea: "negro".

Sensible desde chico, Cesar Saldivar es uno de los fotógrafos más reconocidos gracias a su trabajo constante por la conciencia social a través de imágenes. Originario de Monterrey, se va desde niño a Nueva York a estudiar idiomas, con la ayuda de Nancy Reynolds se integra en el mundo del arte y despues de volver a su ciudad natal, decide viajar a Paris para estudiar y cultivarse con la danza, la estética y también los idiomas. A travéz de su comunicación con las comunidades más desprotegidas alrededor de la República Mexicana, Cesar se interesa profundamente en ayudar a las comunidades por medio de empresas e instituciones. Sin dejar a un lado esta idea, el fotógrafo sigue su aprendizaje y a través de Jean Pierre Dumas, su mentor, se introduce más en la obra plástica y a la cinematografía, con esto se rodea de artistas reconocidos y Cesar pasa por una etapa en la que es reconocido como promotor de arte. Llega a convertirse tambien en el fotógrafo del cine español, tomando fotos para el Festival de Cannes, para la revista Elle, y en este medio conociendo más personas importantes de las que aprendería para seguir con su trabajo. Predomina en el lenguaje del desnudo, sus fotos fueron aceptadas por la sociedad, pues en sus fotografías Cesar no cruza la línea de lo vulgar, lo banal y lo grotesco, es así como se convierte rápidamente en un fotógrafo consagrado. Redescubriendo su principal interés por el pueblo, la sociedad y la realidad colectiva, haciendo homenaje a las muertas de Juárez, tocando temas controverciales, expresándose después de todo un largo aprendizaje con la estética del cuerpo y el pensamiento ideológico que había formado con el tiempo, Cesar Saldivar sigue trabajando por la sociedad mexicana, y viendo su trabajo es casi imposible no despertar una conexión con sus fotografías.
EMILIANO GIRONELLA
Emiliano Gironella was born November 7th, 1972 as a contemporary artist from a family of generations of prominent artists and architects from both sides of the family in Mexico.Emiliano graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy where he majored in Photography, Sculpture and Wood Cut Engraving.Mr. Gironella has made numerous exhibitions at Museums, Galleries, Public Places, Cultural Centers, and worked with Foundations, across Mexico and Europe. He has lived most of his life in Mexico, although he also lived in London and Madrid in 1997 where he worked at Armando Morales workshop. He moved back to Mexico City the same year and founded the gallery and art workshop, El Aire Centro de Arte with his mother Carmen Parra and Ofelia Pallares followed by the opening of a library called Esto es Gallo with the book collections from Alberto Gironella, Carmen Parra and his own in 2010. He did the limited edition boxes for Jose Cuervos most prestigious tequila Reserva de la Familia and also the label for Dueto wine Sto. Tomás from Ensenada, Baja California. He made the graphic design and art at La Colina restaurant in Japan in 2007 as well as murals in the locally famous cantinas la Covadonga and La Providencia in 2006.His work is in many prestigious collections around the world including the private collection of Bruno Bischofberger who acquired the piece El Caballo Blanco in 2005 from the series Y sigue siendo el Rey. ARTIST STATEMENTI think that chance becomes the constitutive element of life, considering that everything what happens and gives shape to us is dictated by fortune and, most of the times, escapes to our capability to control it. From the place and time in which we born, to the people we met and the context in which we develop, we are always exposed to and endless number of probabilistic accidents which finally are the main source of our individuality and the supplier of an unquantifiable amount of information in many levels. The mystery becomes way more complex when all this data gets interiorized and systematized in our mind, having as a result a unique profile.In my art, I always try to promote a perspective that gives priority to contemplation and to the respect of the hermeticism of chance as the true source of aesthetics. The excessive need to control and understand everything we see, becomes many times in an obstacle to the signification of an artwork and an irremediable deviation of its original intention. Regarding this, I prefer abstraction and geometry as ways to take this debate to a terrain separated from everyday life and to translate all this internalized information in figures that plays with the arbitrary way in which our mind works in the hands of chance. I like to understand every single of the decisions we take as a product of a genealogy of ideas that becomes as complex as impossible it would be to reproduce it. According to this, art is just one more of the ways in which all this scaffolding comes to light, although it is certainly one of the most delightful.BIOErnesto Walker (MX, 1982) Based in Monterrey (MX).Based in Monterrey (MX). His artwork is characterized by the exploration of abstraction as a way to encode and visually translate the reality around us. Feeling attracted by the partially understandable way in which human beings behaves in society, his pieces always keep some level of mystery, leaving the search for explanations in second place and promoting the exercise of contemplation as and end itself and not as a mean to something else. He has 5 solo exhibitions and participated in 14 group exhibits, including 4 at an international level. His academic formation is on the field of humanities, with a bachelor degree in International Relations obtained in 2006. Parallel to his own production, he has occupied positions such as the Education Department Headship for the Glass Museum in Monterrey, within other private and public cultural projects.Among other distinctions, he is recipient of the PACMyC fellowship given by the Arts and Culture National Council of Mexico (CONACULTA) as well as the FINANCIARTE production fellowship given by the State Arts Council (CONARTE). By commission of the University, he creates a big format hanging sculpture for permanent exhibit at the Rectory Building. Later this year, he will obtain a special mention for his participation in the International Arts Contest organized by the school. During that year he participates in another group exhibition.2006His second solo exhibit entitled "Why not?" takes place at the Arts Hall of Televisa Monterrey. The Binni Rutie' Gallery houses his third solo exhibit "Do not touch". Later this year he will start working for the gallery. He graduated with honors from the B. A. in International Relations. The México Arte Contemporáneo Gallery in Acapulco (MX) invites him for his forth solo exhibit entitled "Turns out". With the support of the State Arts Council, he attends to the workshop Metalwork: Welding and Fabrication at the Art Students League of New York. Attends to the course Digital Electronics Basics at the Escuela Electrónica Monterrey.2010He performs his fifth solo exhibition entitled "By any chance" at the Arts Faculty of the University of Texas Pan American. Obtains the second place within the Bernardo Elozúa Arts Contest organized by the Arte A. C. Institute.2011He will join the Tec de Monterrey Institute as Professor for the Arts Department.One of his drawings is selected as finalist for the 8th edition of the Puebla de los Ángeles Biennial. The Committee of ELA announces him as part of the selected artist for the 7th edition of the ETNIA Latin American Art Exhibit at Brussels, which also include representatives from other fourteen countries. One of his Ink Drawings is selected for this year's edition of the "Reseña", organized by the State Art's Council. He is awarded with the FINANCIARTE Fellowship given by the State Arts Council CONARTE. An exhibit is organized with the results of his project "Forja 1900" awarded with the PACMyC Fellowship in 2009 by the National Arts Council CONACULTA.

MANIFIESTOMe parece que la casualidad se convierte en el elemento constitutivo de la vida, considerando que todo lo que nos sucede y moldea es fortuito y se escapa de nuestro control la mayoría de las veces. Desde el lugar y época en que nacemos, hasta la gente con quien convivimos y el contexto en que nos desarrollamos, estamos siempre expuestos a un sin fin de accidentes probabilísticos que finalmente son la fuente de nuestra individualidad y que nos proveen de innumerable información en varios niveles. El misterio se vuelve todavía más complejo cuando todos estos eventos se interiorizan, sistematizan y retroalimentan en la mente, dando como resultado nuestros perfiles personales.En mi obra, trato de promover la contemplación y el respeto al hermetismo de esta casualidad como una fuente de deleite estético.La inquietud por controlar y entender todo lo que se ve, se convierte muchas veces en un obstáculo para la significación de la obra y en una desviación irremediable de su intención original. En este sentido, opto por la abstracción y la geometría como formas de llevar este debate a un terreno ajeno a lo cotidiano, y de traducir toda esta información interna en figuras que ponen de manifiesto la arbitrariedad con la que trabaja la mente en manos de la casualidad. Me gusta entender cada una de las decisiones que tomamos como producto de una genealogìa de ideas que se vuelve tan indescifrable, como irreproducible. En este sentido, el arte es sólo una más de las formas en que todo este andamiaje sale a la luz, aunque ciertamente puede ser una de los más vistosas.BIOGRAFÍAErnesto Walker (Méx., 1982)Radica y trabaja en la ciudad de Monterrey (Méx.). Su obra se caracteriza por la exploración de la abstracción como una forma de traducir el mundo a su alrededor. Manteniendo un esmerado respeto e interés por el parcialmente descifrable funcionamiento del individuo en sociedad, sus piezas buscan conservar un grado de misterio, dejando de lado la búsqueda de explicaciones y promoviendo la práctica de la contemplación como fin y no como medio. Hasta el momento, cuenta con 5 exposiciones individuales, 14 colectivas y 4 a nivel internacional. Su formación académica es en el área de humanidades, con una licenciatura en Relaciones Internacionales por el Tec de Monterrey (2006). Paralelo a su producción, se ha desempeñado como responsable a cargo del departamento de educación del Museo del Vidrio en Monterrey, así como otros cargos de gestión cultural tanto en el contexto público, como privado. Entre otras distinciones, es ganador de la beca PACMyC otorgada en el 2009 por el Consejo para la Cultura y las Artes (CONACULTA) y de la beca de producción FINANCIARTE otorgada por CONARTE en 2011. Realiza su tercera exposición individual titulada No tocar en la Galería de Arte Contemporáneo Binni Rutie, donde trabajará por una temporada. Se gradúa de la licenciatura en Relaciones Internacionales con mención honorífica. Realiza su cuarta exposición individual titulada Ahora resulta invitado por la galería México Arte Contemporáneo, en Acapulco.2007Inicia labores como titular del departamento de educación en el Museo del Vidrio. Durante este año participará en otras dos exposiciones colectivas.2008Colabora con CONARTE como miembro del jurado de artes plásticas para esa edición del certamen Financiarte. Resulta finalista para la 8va edición de la Bienal Puebla de los Ángeles de la Universidad Iberoamericana. Queda seleccionado para la la exposición ETNIA de Arte Latinoamericano en Bruselas.Una de sus obras en tinta es elegida para participar en la Reseña de CONARTE de este año. Es premiado con la beca de producción FINANCIARTE, otorgada por el Consejo de Cultura del Estado. Realiza su sexta exposición individual en la "Galería/Atelier" en San Miguel de Allende, Gto. También participa en otra exposición colectiva.

ARTIST STATEMENTI can personally say that paintig gives me a better understanding of contemporary history. Through my work and with the help of the visual information I get from newspapers, mostly tabloids, I try to capture images about the world and how we live. I find inspiration in these images because of the great impact in their visual and narrative stlye. I also find disturbing characteristics in these images that worry me, because people in general do not reflect on their background or undertone, and in some cases they prefer to ignore the fact that there´s a reflection of our harsh reality in them. I am interested in working with them in a literal or hyper technical sense of painting, I prefer to translate into pictorial language and completely change their common look.I believe that through the painting of disturbing and grotesque photos I can get to seduce them and convert them into fully contemplative images, thus changing the look of what is happening in our day to day. Consequently immersing the viewer in each piece, either because of the size or the amount of pictorial information that each of them contains. A key part of my creative process is being locked up (almost daily) in a room of 2x2 meters, where I try to paste together the most relevant, mysterious and strange images I find. These images come from newspaper clippings, magazines, pamphlets, in short, any printed material that can expand my view of the world. I view this space as an incubator of ideas where I can see and direct mymy interests. Once seated inside these four walls filled with pictures, I "shred" to fully understand the relationships between them, and begin to make a mental collage. In the construction of my pieces I am interesting in letting the painting, as a medium, intervene, creating a dialogue between me and each piece. I sometimos let the paint drip around the edges, leave it to dry, and then continue to work on it the next day. This way the artist´s hand, that is the ¨vistuosity¨, technique or perfection is not evident in my work. I personally relieve the the action of painting has to do with a feeling of freedom and relief. It is a reflection of a mystical force that takes hold of me, and then overflows out of me, on to a canvas or surfaces that grows as the momentum inside me also grows. This way, I am not a slave to painting, transforming inside a channel of constant uncertainty. DESCRIPTION OF WORKDescribing Raul Cerrillo´s work is a difficult task. His paintings are the result of several days of inspiration in which he is locked in a room of 2 x 2 meters, absolutely full of tabloid pictures, magazine clippings, pamphlets, and advertisements. His approach to the canvas and painting as medium, after these intensive sessions of observation, is almost a ritual where the mystical and the unconscious get a hold of him. He obsessively creates increasingly large paintings, that invade his space and are integrated into his life. The quality that exists in each of his paintings is brilliant and his giant formats cause the viewer to feel immersed in them. In some sections of his pieces you can identify detailed figures, alongside others that are caused by spills of enamel colors and shapes generated by the artist subsequently works on.The monkey figure is recurrent in is work, it is linked with an image that symbolizes the unconscious, the instinctual part of man that lies between manners and clothing, which takes over your thoughts and allows it to do things that could be considered mad unreason, eccentric, or manic. MANIFIESTOEn términos personales puedo decir que gracias a la pintura puedo entender la historia contemporánea. Por medio de mi trabajo, busco plasmar imágenes acerca del mundo y cómo lo vivimos a través de información visual que obtengo de los periódicos, en su mayoría sensacionalistas, pues en ellas encuentro gran impacto gracias a su poder visual y narrativo. Estas imágenes tienen una característica que me inquieta, pues la gente en general no suele reflexionar el trasfondo de ellas y en algunos casos prefiere ignorar el hecho de que el hecho de que existan es el reflejo de la cruda realidad. No me interesa trabajar con ellas de manera literal o hiperrealista en el sentido técnico de la pintura; prefiero traducirlas a un lenguaje pictórico y cambiar la mirada común completamente.Considero que por medio de la pintura las fotos alarmantes y grotescas pueden llegar a seducir y transformarse en imágenes totalmente contemplativas, cambiando así la mirada sobre lo que acontece diariamente. De este modo logro que el espectador se vea inmerso en cada pieza, ya sea por su tamaño o por la cantidad de información pictórica que cada una de ellas contiene. Una parte fundamental de mi proceso creativo consiste en encerrarme (casi a diario) en un cuarto de 2x2 metros, donde procuro pegar las imágenes más relevantes o las más misteriosas y extrañas para mí, ya sean recortes de periódicos, revistas, panfletos, en fin; cualquier material impreso que pueda ampliar mi cosmovisión acerca del mundo. Considero este espacio como una incubadora de ideas donde puedo ver hacia donde van mis intereses. Una vez sentado frente a estas cuatro paredes repletas de imágenes, que observo hasta que logro desmenuzar y entender completamente, las empiezo a relacionar entre ellas haciendo un collage mental. En la construcción de mis piezas me interesa dejar que la pintura como material intervenga, y que cada cuadro se convierta en un diálogo entre la pintura y yo. En algunos casos dejo que la pintura se salga de los bordes o se escurra, y al día siguiente continuo, de manera que en mis cuadros no es siempre evidente la mano del artista, es decir el virtuosismo, la técnica, la perfección, etc. La acción de pintar para mí tiene que ver con un sentimiento de libertad y de alivio, es el reflejo de una fuerza mística que se apodera de mí y desfogo en lienzos o superficies que van creciendo en tamaño a medida que crece este impulso, de esta manera no me convierto en un esclavo de la pintura, pues esta se transforma en un canal en el cual siempre existe la incertidumbre.DESCRIPCIÓN DE TRABAJODescribir el trabajo de Raúl Cerrillo es una tarea difícil. Sus pinturas son resultado de varios días de inspiración en los que él se encierra en un cuarto de 2 x 2 mts, lleno absolutamente de imágenes de periódicos sensacionalistas, recortes de revistas, panfletos, publicidades. Su aproximación al lienzo y a la pintura como material, después de estas sesiones intensivas de observación, es casi un ritual donde la mística y el inconsciente se apoderan de él. De manera obsesiva crea cuadros cada vez más grandes, que invaden su espacio y se integran a su vida. La calidad que existe en cada una de sus pinturas es deslumbrante y sus formatos gigantes ocasionan que el espectador se sienta inmerso en ellos. En algunas secciones de sus piezas se pueden observar figuras con gran detalle, al lado de otras que son producidas por derrames de esmalte que generan colores y formas que el artista posteriormente modifica o trabaja. En su obra la figura del mono es recurrente, está ligada con una imagen que simboliza su inconsciente, la parte instintiva del ser humano que se esconde entre modales y prendas de vestir, que se apodera de sus pensamientos y lo lleva a hacer cosas que podrían considerarse locas, sinrazón, excéntricas o maniáticas. En ese sentido la obra de Raúl es autorreferencial, pues es justamente eso lo que le ocurre a él cuando está en ese trance desde el que produce su pintura.Nació en la ciudad de México en 1977. Estudió en la Escuela de Artes Plásticas La Esmeralda, así como en el Instituto de Artes Visuales, en Puebla y tomó curso de pinturas en vidrio en el Wheaton Village, en los Estados Unidos. Sus exposiciones individuales han recorrido distintas ciudades del país, incluyendo la ciudad de México, Monterrey y Puebla mientras que en exposiciones colectivas sus piezas han viajado por Estados Unidos, Italia, México, y Milán. Ha sido merecedor de varios premios, tales como el Premio de Adquisición 1er lugar, en el Concurso Asociación de la Plástica San Pedro Garza García; la Beca FOESCAP 2005-2006, en Puebla; en esta ciudad, también el Premio de Adquisición, Arte Contemporáneo en 2004. Seleccionado para el Premio Nacionl Arte Joven 2001 y 2004, y las becas FONCA 2003y 2002.
